City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, City Manager Joe Arriola and Dana Nottingham, Executive Director of Downtown Development, along with area merchants, civic leaders and city administrators celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony that marked the start of yet another important capital improvements project, this one in the heart of Downtown Miami:  the Flagler Street Marketplace Streetscape Project.

Also present was MCM's team: Project Manager, Ricardo Escobar and Superintendents Mario Cuello and George Martin along with Directors Juan, Pedro and Natacha Munilla.

The scope of the project includes the conversion of Flagler Street from one way to two way traffic; milling and resurfacing of pavement; streetscape improvements such as decorative sidewalks, trash receptacles, traffic signage and signals; landscaping; street uplighting and ADA ramp enhancements. The enhancements and beautification efforts will take place along the following locations: on Flagler Street from NW/SW 2nd Avenue to Biscayne Boulevard; on NW/NE 1st Street from NW 1st Avenue to Biscayne Boulevard; on SE 1st Street from SE 1st Avenue to SE 3rd Avenue; and on SE/NE 3rd Avenue from SE 4th Street to NE 1st Street.
