	2009 Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Awards – November 6, 2009 - The MCM & RS&H Team wins Transportation Under $50 Million Design-Build Merit Award! With new high-speed, open-road tolling and a signature overhead gantry, the Sunrise Mainline Toll Plaza Modifications project transformed South Florida’s Sawgrass Expressway into the highway of the future. The project was completed by the MCM and RS&H team two months early and ultimately exceeded the goals of its owner, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. 	MCM Black & White Christmas Party – December 12, 2009 - The theme of the night: Black and White. The setting: The Cove, a beautiful waterfront garden at Miami's Seaquarium. The MCM team had the opportunity to enjoy an evening full of entertainment and mingle with friends and family at the large reception area that has the most incredible view of the Miami Skyline from Coconut Grove to Downtown Miami. 	Miami Senior High School Groundbreaking Ceremony – November 9, 2009 - The MCM team, M-DCPS staff and city officials gathered at Miami Senior High School to celebrate the long awaited Groundbreaking Ceremony. MCM was awarded the contract for the major additions and renovations work at the historic high school which include major renovations of the historic building, a new classroom wing, new parking garage and general remodeling work throughout the facility. 	2009 Oktoberfest - November 1st, 2009 - The MCM family got together again for our Annual "Oktoberfest" Picnic. This year, we were joined by the presence of "magical guests" such as mermaids, pirates and even movie characters! Our employees and their families got to wear their best costumes and many of them were lucky prize winners! MCM employees also attended a “Murder Mystery Party,” a great team-building activity where they got to interact with one another. 	MDJV Reaches 1st Major Milestone on MIA's North Terminal Improvements Project (NTI) - October 30th, 2009 – After three accelerations, due to dozens of Bulletins, the *MCM-Dragados Joint Venture (MDJV)* has attained the TCO for Phase 1 of the North Terminal Improvements project. NTI is basically the “front door” of the North Terminal Development project. NTI features a new curbside which has been enhanced by increasing the width 4’ with a beautiful Rustic Terrazzo finish and a new Metal Panel Ceiling system with better illumination along with additional curbside ticket counters and LED signage. There are new Automatic Entrance doors to a new Epoxy Terrazzo covered circulation space which is well lit to the new ticket counters. Two brand new security checkpoints will be opening this week to allow passengers a shorter path to the gates that MCM helped build under POJV. The ramp level features 7 new bag claim devices. 	HDL 1st Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest - October 24, 2009 - The High Level Disinfective (HLD) team put together a fun team-building activity for the several contractors working at the South Florida Water Management District's Plant site. Ana De Priest, Francisco Pividal and Nicolle Cure represented the MCM Team. Some of the companies present at the event were Poole and Kent, Skanska and Southeastern Construction. 	Grand Re-Opening of 10th St Auditorium & Beach Patrol Headquarters - October 24, 2009 The newly restored 10th Street Auditorium is a 15,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art facility that has been designed to accommodate the Art Deco Welcome Center, a two-story exhibition hall/interpretive center a retail gift store, a lecture hall and administrative offices. On the east lies the newly renovated 2000 sq ft Beach Patrol Headquarters, which will continue to serve as a valuable resource for the community with the expansion of their administrative offices vital support facilities for ocean rescue operations and renovated public restrooms. 	UF Career Fair - October 13, 2009 - Once again, MCM participated from UF’s M.E. Rinker Sr. School of Building Construction Career Fair that took place at the O'Connell Center this year.We had the opportunity to interview students who will be graduating from their BCN program soon or have graduated recently. Several students had the opportunity to talk to our executives and discuss possible job and internship opportunities within our company. 	FIU Career Fair - September 22, 2009 - MCM participated from FIU’s Fall Career Fair which took place at the Graham Center Ballrooms on the Modesto A. Maidique Campus. Students had the opportunity to discuss possible job and internships opportunities within our company. We are looking forward to seeing some of these students working/interning at MCM soon! 	Escape to Miami Triathlon - September 27, 2009 - It was a beautiful Sunday morning with balmy breezes and the MCM MIA Triathlon Team competed with 1500 triathletes challenging themselves to the extreme. This triathlon is considered the most challenging triathlon in Florida and maybe the country, yet everyone on the MCM MIA Triathlon Team who competed completed the race. WAY TO GO MCM TEAM!! 	Back to School Backpack Giveaway- August 15, 2009 - District 3 Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson hosted her 3rd Annual Back to School Fun Day at the Olinda Park. During this event, children received free bags and school supplies on a “first come, first serve” basis. Children and adults enjoyed an afternoon full of activities, music, and other entertainment. 	FTBA Annual Convention - August 13th-16th, 2009 - This year’s FTBA convention was held at the Boca Raton Resort and Club. Our team had the opportunity to meet top FDOT officials and key legislative leaders. Our Safety Manager, Eduardo Martinez, accepted MCM’s Safety Award of Superior Achievement during the Award Ceremony Breakfast. Moreover, Alexis Leal, Purchasing Director, accepted an award for MCM’s outstanding effort in exceeding Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Utilization Goals last year. 	Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Luncheon - August 5, 2009 - MCM sponsored this monthly trustee luncheon at the Jungle Island. Attendees of this event where able to interact with important guests such as Mark Rosenberg who is the current President of Florida International University. 	Kids & Families Foundation - Christmas in July Bike Run - July 19, 2009 - The Kids & Families Foundation enhances the lives of children with chronic illnesses by developing and funding innovative programs and activities that provide essential needs and happiness. Bikers from all over Miami-Dade gathered together to participate in their Annual Toy Drive, departing from Peterson Harley Davidson of Miami and arriving to Tropical Park. 	Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Luncheon - July 1st, 2009 - MCM attended the 22nd Annual Military Service Person of the Year Awards. This event, hosted by the GMCC and sponsored by MCM, honored military personnel from each branch of the Armed Forces. In addition, George M. Burgess, Miami-Dade County Manager, gave a speech on Funding Public Service in a Recession. The luncheon took place at the Treetop Ballroom at the beautiful Jungle Island. 	MCM Green Seminar - June 24, 2009 - MCM held its first Green Seminar at the General Services Administration (GSA) building located in Downtown Miami. 	American Airlines Arena Green Tour- June 24, 2009 - MCM attended a Green Tour of the American Airlines Arena building which received LEED Certification for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance by the USGBC. The AAA is one of two arenas in the U.S. to be the first to receive this prestigious certification. Some of the “green” features in the AAA include water-efficient landscaping, walk-off carpets, green roofing materials and underground parking, all in accordance with the LEED Existing Buildings Rating System. 	81st Annual AAAE Conference and Exposition - June 14-17, 2009 - MCM attended this event that was hosted in the beautiful city of Philadelphia. Our team had the opportunity to network with more than 2,500 members of the airport community, including airport executives from the U.S., Canada and around the world, and vendors who provide products and services to the airport industry. In addition, MCM met with representatives from FAA, DOT, TSA and other prominent government agencies who discussed hot topics affecting airports today. 	MiaGreen Expo & Conference - Jun 11 & 12, 2009. MCM attendance to this great expo and conference was a real success! During these two days, the MCM team saw sustainable products, services and systems that are in the local market, and was able to attend some of the educational sessions related to design, economics and policies & benefits. With over 90 exhibitors, 25 educational sessions and 26 speakers, MiaGreen 2009 was the first green expo and conference focused in the construction arena hosted by City of Miami Beach. 	Career Day at Leewood Elementary School - May 22, 2009 – Once again, MCM participated in a Career Day event, this time, at Leewood Elementary School. Our project manager, Edgar Martinez, spent an afternoon with fifth graders sharing his experiences as a project manager and displaying MCM’s work. Students actively participated paying close attention to our PM and asking questions about the construction industry and our projects. MCM strives to motivate students to become the best they can be. During career fairs and school visits, students get to spend one-on-one time with our professionals, who answer their questions about construction practices, safety and other matters related to the industry. 	ECA's Fishing Tournament - May 16th, 2009 – MCM employees and their families enjoyed a sun-soaked weekend while participating in the 25th Annual Engineering Contractors Association of South Florida fishing tournament held at the Hawk’s Cay Resort on Duck Key in the Florida Keys. A total of 19 boats spent a day fishing for Dolphin and Wahoo on very rough, 8 to 10-foot seas, with 20-knot winds. Fishing for MCM were the current ECA President Alexis Leal, Michael Munilla, Pedro Munilla, Pete Munilla, Jr., Jorge Munilla, Geno Jaramillo, Tony Manning and John DiPaula along with friends and family. MCM took first place aboard the "Bottom Line" and third place aboard the "Best Bet." Alexis Leal, fishing along side Matt and Michael Munilla and Nick Carulo on the “Bottom Line”, landed the largest Dolphin of the day weighing in at 34.4 pounds. The "Bottom Line" anglers enjoyed a clean sweep of the top prizes; most combined weight and largest single fish to earn bragging rights until next year. 	Rebuilding Together Our Community - April 25th,2009 – MCM Employees gathered in the area of Coconut Grove, FL to help homeowners fix up their homes. 	Hialeah Gardens High School Visit To NTI at MIA- April 3rd, 2009 – Students of the HGHS, who are part of “MDCPS Engineering Magnet Program,” displayed much interest during their visit to the North Terminal Improvements job site at the Miami International Airport. 	Hialeah Gardens High School Students Visit I-95 Project- April 3rd, 2009 – Students of the HGHS visited MCM's I-95 project to learn more about construction and safety in the job site. 	South Pointe Park Re-Opening March 22, 2009 - South Pointe Park grand re-opening on Sunday, March 22nd was a big success! 	ECA Installation Ceremony February 21, 2009 - Not just an ordinary sunny Saturday afternoon at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, FL; this one was full of honor….for once again, MCM joined it’s Purchasing Director, Alexis Leal, at the 2009 ECA Installation Ceremony. 	GSA Groundbreaking Ceremony - February 20, 2009 - The General Services Administration (GSA) Trade Shops, which is the County’s first certified green building, broke ground at 3501 NW 46 Street in Miami on Friday, February 20th. It will be the first County building to be designated by the U.S. Green Building Council as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certified green building, meaning that it will meet rigorous standards for energy and water efficiency, and is built utilizing recycled and renewable materials.To see pictures of this event, please click here
	MCM's 2nd Annual Toy Drive December 22, 2008 - MCM held a toy drive to benefit the Children’s Home Society of Florida which is one of Florida’s oldest private non-profit organizations providing services to children and families. 	Kids & Families Foundation Fundraiser December 5, 2008 - The Kids & Families Foundation held its 7th annual Holiday Gala “A Red Affair at Vizcaya," at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. More than 300 toys were collected and distributed to seriously ill children at Holtz Children's Hospital. Guests also helped raise funds for the Second Chance Learning Center, a new facility that will help children who face developmental problems as the result of cancer treatment. 	I-95 Managed Lanes Phase 1A Grand Opening December 2, 2008 - MCM along with its JV Partner FCC Construction and members from the Florida Department of Transportation and Congressman Lincoln Diaz Balart, joined to celebrate the opening of Phase 1A of 95 Express last December 2nd. This event marks the completion of the initial phase of the 95 Express lanes on the most heavily traveled corridor in the region. The first of its kind in South Florida, this major congestion-reduction project will improve Bus Rapid Transit, encourage carpooling/ vanpooling, and give drivers a new option of choosing variably priced toll lanes for longer trips. 	SFLHCC awards MCM “Hispanic Company of the Year” November 6, 2008 - The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 14th Annual Sunshine Awards Luncheon at the Conrad Hotel in Miami. Every year, SFLHCC honors members that “shine” and excel in their respective careers through their work, leadership and community service involvement. 	FDOT Construction Career Days October 30, 2008 - Construction Career Days is a program designed to introduce school students to the wide range of career opportunities available to them in the construction industry in a hands-on environment. 	Oktoberfest 2008 October 19, 2008 - It was that time of year again for the annual picnic at La Hacienda Camael. Everyone had a great time being an MCM Sheriff or an Indian Chief. The weather was beautiful...it was a perfect day to get together! This year we introduced a UW Casino it was very successful. We raised over $2,000 for the United Way. 	ECA / AGC / AIA / UCA Dinner September 8, 2008 - This year the Engineering Contractors Association, the AGC Miami Chapter, the AIA Miami Chapter, and the UCA South Florida Chapter hosted a dinner at the Don Shula's Hotel.. Mayor Carlos Alvarez and Johnny Martinez from the City of Miami were the guest speakers. They introduced the 2008 Economic Stimulus Plan to accelerate the contracting process. 	Jorge Mas Canosa Middle School Dedication May 21, 2008 – During a very warm morning under the Miami Sun, the community of JMC Middle School met to celebrate the formal inaguration of this state of the art facility. Very special guests included the proud Mas Canosa family, which after a very emotional performance by the students shared their appreciation, and promised to keep carrying the legacy of educational excellence their father always instilled in them. 	Westland Hialeah Senior High School Dedication May 7, 2008 – MCM along with the Hialeah community celebrated the official inauguration of this state-of-the-art facility. Dr. Albert Rodriguez, principal of the school, spoke about the goals of the school and thanked the A/E and the construction team for all their help, support and dedication during the construction of this project. Julio Robania, Mayor of Hialeah, was also there and honored MCM for their outstanding performance in completing this project. 	MCM is Rebuilding Together Again!! April 26, 2008 - This year MCM participated in Rebuilding Together along with the South Florida AGC, where we coordinated the restoration of existing homes for the elderly, infirmed, or less fortunate members of our community. This year we targeted to improve Cocunut Grove, specifically the home of Mrs. Catherine Eaddy, a widowed grandmother providing a home for her children, and care for her grand children. 	Alexis Leal appointed as President of the Engineering Contractors Association February 2nd, 2008- Alexis Leal, our Purchasing Director, was formally installed as President of the Engineering Contractors Association of South Florida last Saturday February 2nd. 	First Annual Toy Drive 2007 December 16th , 2007 – We are very proud to announce that our first annual Toy Drive was a great success!!! Between all of us at MCM we collected over $6,000 and were able to bring smiles to all kids big and small at the Haitian American Foundation, a Community Center located in Little Haiti, helping the less fortunate kids & families of the area. 	MCM's Christmas Party 2007 December 8th , 2007 – The party was so much fun this year... we had a cocktail reception, South Beach style, and then we had dinner at the Rotunda Room of the Coral Gables Colonnade Hotel. Jorge Munilla gave a wonderful speech, and presented awards to Connie Lopez and Gus Fernandez for their 10 years at MCM. After we were done with dinner, video and awards, the party was on till around 1:00 AM. We danced all night long to the tunes of Miami Band. 	Oktoberfest 2007 October 15th , 2007 – On a breezy and cool Sunday afternoon, all MCM employees met again, to celebrate our annual Picnic... but this year we decided to do it a little differently. We gathered at La Hacienda Camael, and we celebrated Western Style! We had tons of fun riding horses and ponies, the kids pet all the farm animals and some of us even rode the mechanical bull. 	MCM-Condotte Softball Game August 11 - Our softball team played against Condotte America during their Annual Picnic in Tropical Park. Our guys gave their best, but unfortunately, Condotte beat us by only one run!!! 6-5!!! It was a great summer day of fun!!! We had the opportunity to share with our families and Condotte's families after the game at their picnic, and it was a great way to grow closer with other members of our industry. 	MDX Ribbon Cutting Ceremony June 21st , 2007 – The Extension of SR 836 and the new Toll Plaza Section completed by MCM was officially inagurated in a very festive ceremony hosted by Javier Rodriguez, P.E. Executive Director of MDX. The attendants heard some interesting remarks from Darryl K. Sharpton, CPA – Chairman, MDX Board of Directors; the Honorable José “Pepe” Diaz – Miami-Dade County Commissioner, District 12 and the Honorable Joe A. Martinez – Miami-Dade County Commissioner, District 11. The event was closed by Alfred Lurigados, P.E. Director of Engineering of MDX who commended all involved in the design and construction for bringing this project to a successful and timely completion. 	ECA Fishing Tournament 2007 May 19th, 2007 – MCM fished the 23rd Annual Engineering Contractors Association fishing tournament held at the Hawks Cay Resort on Duck Key in the Florida Keys. A total of twenty-two boats spent a sun-soaked day fishing for Dolphin and Wahoo. Our team was only one of eight boats that placed on the final scoreboard. Fishing for MCM were Alexis Leal, Bruce McDonald, Danny Bouza, Brook Wolfe and Mario Cuello. In addition to our team’s placing, Alexis Leal landed his first and the only Blue Marlin caught during the tournament. Congratulations to the entire team!!!. 	United Way Mayor's Ball May 18th, 2007 - MCM is proud to support our dear friends at the United Way once again. This year the party was setup in the Biggest Ship in the World!!!, Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas. All the proceeds collected during the night, including Casino and Auctions were destined to help all the worthy causes the United Way supports and also to Camillus House. 	We officialy Broke Ground at State School BB1! May 8th , 2007 - After completing the Pre-construction, Demolition and Foundation phases for State School BB1, we officially broke ground for the construction of this new 1,624 student station, state of the art facility, to be completed August 2008. The school includes a 4-story classroom building and 2-story administration, media center and cafeteria/auditorium; supporting the site are 3 levels of raised parking. The School Board will enter into a Joint Agreement with the City of Sunny Isles Beach to have shared use of its facilities with the City's Beach Park located accross the street. 	MCM is Rebuilding Together! April 30th, 2007 -Every year MCM gets together to help one of our community’s less fortunate members to renovate their house. The event is called “Christmas in April” and is organized by Rebuilding Together. Rebuilding Together's mission is to preserve and revitalize houses and communities, assuring that low-income homeowners, from the elderly and disabled to families with children, live in warmth, safety, and independence. In partnership with communities, our goal is to make a sustainable impact. 	MCM Ranked 68 by Hispanic Business Magazine for 2005 June 16th, 2006 - MCM climbed 29 positions in this year's ranking, by increasing our revenues by 69% from last results. According to Jesus Chavarria, Editor of the Magazine "Construction firms reported a banner year, the group's percentage of total revenues rose from 22 to 24.9 percent. 	State School BB1 awarded to MCM Corp. June 14th, 2006 - Miami-Dade County Public Schools awarded MCM Corp. the Construction Management at Risk of a new Multi-story K-8 Facility designed to house 1,642 student stations, located at the City of Sunny Isles, North of Miami-Dade County. The school will be organized based on "A School-within-a-School" concept and will total approximately 145,000 gross square feet. Congratulations EDU Team!!!
	ECA Fishing Tournament 2006 May 20th, 2006 - MCM and Arazoza Brothers, Inc. teamed up to fish the 22nd Annual Engineering Contractors Association fishing tournament. The tournament was held at Hawks Cay Marina on Duck Key in the Florida Keys. The team placed first in the largest fish category by catching the largest dolphin, a bull that weighed 33.8lbs. That dolphin along with others placed the team 2nd overall for the tournament. Fishing for MCM were Alexis Leal and Bruce McDonald. Representing Arazoza Brothers were Albert Arazoza, Rudy Villanueva and Clarence Chamorro. Congratulations guys for a tremendous performance!!! MCM would like to congratulate the ECA for putting together a fantastic weekend for all to enjoy.

	Coral Park Senior High School Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Januay 26th , 2006 - MCM along with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and all the community of Coral Park Senior High School celebrated the official inauguration of this facility. 	State School Y1 & YY1 Broke Ground December 1st , 2005 - As we arrived at the YY1 site we could hear the Felix Varela Senior High band playing and the murmuring of the crowd as they arrived at the event. Everyone spoke about the project with excitement and gave thanks to MCM Corp. for their contributions. Special thanks were given by Dr. Rudy F. Crew for making this “Accelerated” project happen. 	LBA General Contractor of the Year Award August, 2005 - LBA honored MCM with the General Contractor of the Year Award. The Latin Builders Association, a Non-profit corporation, was founded in 1971. Their mission is "to promote and serve the development and construction industry, thereby creating business opportunities for its members."
	State School WWW awarded to MCM Corp. July 13, 2005 - Miami-Dade County Public Schools awarded MCM Corp. the design-build of a new 322,084 SF High School located at 4000 West 18th Avenue, Hialeah, FL. The organization of this facility will be based on a “School-within-a-School” concept for grades 9-12 with general classrooms, administration, student services, media center, art, science, vocational classrooms, labs, a complete auditorium with music labs, full cafeteria and kitchen with interior and exterior dining and full gymnasium/physical education facility with required play fields, drop-offs, parking garage and all site improvements.
	2 More Schools awarded to MCM!!! 03/2005 March 17 – MCM was awarded the New Elementary School "Y1" and the New Middle School "YY1", by Miami-Dade County Public Schools. The first project is a new multi-story facility which will house 1,068 new student stations in a 93,397 SF area, and will be located on SW 160th Ave & SW 144th Street. The second project is also a new multistory facility which will house 2,120 student stations in a 193,076 SF area, and will be located on SW 157th Ave & SW 144th St..

	We got Awarded a New School!!! February 17 – MCM was awarded Middle School "NN1", by Miami-Dade County Public Schools. The project is a new multi-story facility which will house 1,662 new student stations in a 145,325 SF area, and will be located on NW 75th pl& NW 185th St.

	MDX Toll Booth Plaza Awarded to the MCM Design-Build Team October 26 - MCM is proud to announce that we won the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority Project: SR 836 Extension-Toll Plaza Section. In this bid we were competing against giants like Gilbert Southern, The Haskell Company, Community Asphalt and APAC.

	MCM makes the top 100 again !!! MCM has been ranked # 96 of the Top Private Companies by The South Florida Business Journal for the year 2004. This year's list marks a switch from the list of largest private employers published in recent years, to match the tradition of most Business Journal lists using revenue as the ranking criteria. (The list includes several nonprofit organizations that were part of the largest employers list.) Let's keep up the good work!!!
	Breaking Ground on Wynwood Lofts!!! We broke ground on Aug. 9th on the Wynowood Lofts, a project consisting of a 36-unit building with lofs ranging from 840 sq.ft to 1463 sq.ft, reminiscent of an old factory building south of the design district in a warehouse district known as Wynwood. Wynwood is situated between the Design District, Downtown, and the Performing Arts. Wynwood lofts promises to be a development designed for creatives, a development for those looking for true New York/London style loft living.
	MCM will build 4 Targets in 04-05 Target has asked MCM to be its builder for four Targets for the fiscal year staring 10/04 and ending 10/05 representing about $15M of revenue for MCM's retail division. These include a new Super Target at Davie; and the remodelling of the Dadeland, Pembroke Pines and North Miami Stores.
	PGA Bonus Milestone MCM has been awarded the first out of two “No Excuse Bonus” at the PGA Boulevard project that started on 24-May-04.
